Winifred “Wyn” Hagan Cobb was, in every sense of the word, extraordinary. Wyn, born October 28, 1927 in St. Helens, England passed away on May 24, 2026 after a beautiful 98 years filled with love, grace, and devotion to her family. She was preceded in death by her parents, Thomas Hagan and Annie Hagan (Murphy); her five siblings, Marie, Theresa, Vera, Doreen and Micheal; her beloved husband, Jack Cobb; her sons, Thomas J. Cobb and David T. Cobb; and her daughter-in-law, Vicki Cobb.
Wyn is lovingly survived by her daughter, Cathy Coffman (Aaron); her grandchildren, Victor Cobb (Katie), Wil Cobb (Camille), Elizabeth Cobb, Ashley Campbell (Ned) and Logan Coffman (Allison); and her treasured great-grandchildren, Emma Cobb, David Cobb, Caroline Cobb, Jensen Campbell, Colton Campbell, Paxton Campbell, and Madden Campbell.
Wyn was a woman of intelligence, warmth, and remarkable spirit. She was the first child in her family to attend secondary school in England, earning a special scholarship to Notre Dame School from the nuns at her local church. After that, she worked at the Post Office in St Helens, where she eventually met Jack Cobb, an Air Force soldier stationed at RAF Burtonwood. Together, they built a beautiful life centered around family, eventually retiring in Biloxi, Mississippi, near Keesler Air Force Base.
Wyn carried joy and energy throughout her life. In her younger years, she loved ballroom dancing and she continued to enjoy bicycling and long walks well into adulthood. Known for her quick wit and radiant smile, she brought laughter and comfort to everyone around her. She was deeply involved in her children’s lives, proudly serving on the PTO and as a room mother throughout their school years.
Wyn was the heart of a family who loved her deeply, and she adored each of them beyond measure. Her greatest joy in life was the family that surrounded her. Nothing brought her more happiness than the laughter, stories, hugs and beautiful chaos that came with being together with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. To her great-grandchildren, she was “Gigi” — a name spoken with endless love and affection. Her strength was steady and comforting, her laughter unforgettable, and her presence truly became the heartbeat of her family.
Though hearts ache in her absence, Wyn’s story does not end here. Her spirit lives on in every dance shared, every act of kindness offered, every family tradition carried forward and every moment of courage inspired by her example. One of her favorite quotes came from “The End” (the last song The Beatles recorded together): “And in the end, the love you take is equal to the love you make” — words that perfectly reflect the beautiful way Wyn lived her life.
The family would like to thank Interim Healthcare and all the fabulous caregivers that helped care for Wyn for the last three years. A special thank you to Terry Pyatt, words cannot express what you meant to Wyn and the entire family.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made to The Salvation Army, which held a special place in Wyn’s heart after helping save her father’s life during World War I or to St. Croix Hospice in appreciation for the compassionate care and support they provided.
A Celebration of Life open house will be held on Sunday, May 31, 2026 from 11am to 2pm at the Coffman home: 19021 Model Realty Road, Wildwood, Missouri 63069. Per Wyn’s request, dress attire will be colorful, comfortable and casual.
