William Joseph Autry, 48, passed away on Monday, September 21, 2026. He leaves behind a lifetime of love, memories, laughter, and the many people whose lives he touched.
William was a devoted husband, father, son, brother, uncle, and friend. He was the beloved husband of Sarah, and together they shared a life built on love, family, and countless memories.
His greatest pride and joy were his two children, Catelyn and Jacob. William loved being their dad and treasured the time he spent with them. His love for his children was unwavering, and the lessons, laughter, and memories they shared will remain with them always.
William was the son of Ronald and Joann Autry, and a loving brother to Rhonda Autry and Vincent Autry. He was also a much-loved uncle to his nieces and nephews, many of whom affectionately knew him as “Crazy Uncle Willy“. That nickname captured a special part of who William was-the fun, playful, and unforgettable uncle who knew how to make the people around him laugh and create memories they would never forget.
William had a passion for collecting baseball cards and comic books, hobbies that brought him joy and gave him countless treasures to discover and share. He also loved watching movies, enjoying the stories, characters, and moments that made a good movie memorable or a bad movie hilarious.
Those who knew William will remember not only the things he loved, but the person he was: a man who loved his family deeply, found joy in the things that made him happy, and left behind memories that will be treasured for generations.
William’s life was far too short, but the love he gave was immeasurable. He will be profoundly missed by his wife, Sarah; his children, Catelyn and Jacob; his father, Ron (Linda); his siblings, Rhonda (Lance) and Vincent; his in-laws; his cousins, some like siblings; his nieces and nephews; extended family; and all of the friends and loved ones who were fortunate enough to know him.
Though our hearts are broken by his passing, William’s memory will live on in every story we tell, every laugh we share, every baseball card and comic book that reminds us of him, every movie that brings back a memory, and most of all, in the hearts of the people who loved him.
Rest peacefully, William.
You were deeply loved.
You will be forever missed.
And you will never be forgotten.
Forever our husband.
Forever our dad.
Forever our son, brother, and uncle.
Forever our Crazy Uncle Willy.
Services:
A memorial visitation will be held on Thursday, October 8, 2026, from 9:00-11:00 a.m. at St. Cletus Catholic Church, 2705 Zumbehl Rd, St Charles, MO 63301.
A funeral Mass will follow at 11:00 a.m. at St. Cletus Church, with a luncheon to follow the service. October 8 is especially meaningful to William’s family, as it would have been William and Sarah’s 15th wedding anniversary. What was meant to be a day celebrating 15 years of marriage will instead be a day of remembering, honoring, and celebrating the life of the man Sarah loved and the family they built together.
Family and friends are invited to join us in celebrating William’s life, sharing memories, and surrounding his family with love on this difficult day.
