Thomas Nathan Steel Jr., born January 31, 1958, in Pine Bluff, Arkansas, passed away on December 22, 2024, in St. Louis, Missouri, at the age of 66.
Thomas was preceded in death by his parents, Marie E. (Bateman) Steel and Thomas Nathan Steel Sr.; his sister, Teresa Jean “Jeanie” Wood; and his nephew, James Garland Wood. He is survived by his devoted wife, Andrea M. Martin Steel; his sons, Thomas N. Steel III (Nikki Steel) and Jason Steel (Elizabeth); his beloved grandchildren, Kinsley and Kyleigh Steel, Kelsee Jo Gilman, Noah Border, and Remington Steel; his sisters, Sharron Steel and foster sister Ann Tullos.
A proud patriot, Thomas served his country with honor as a member of the United States Army for 18 years. He was part of the esteemed 101st Airborne Division and served during Operation Desert Storm. After completing his military service, Thomas continued to dedicate himself to hard work and community as an employee at St. Louis International Airport, where he worked for multiple airlines from 1996 until his retirement in 2023.
Thomas found joy in life’s simple pleasures—spending time with his sons and grandchildren, visiting the zoo, admiring classic cars, watching wrestling matches, and relaxing on beach vacations. Known for his boyish charm, quick wit, and great sense of humor, he brought smiles to those around him. Always ready to lend a helping hand to friends and neighbors, Thomas embodied kindness and generosity.
His memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew him. May his legacy of love and laughter bring comfort to those he leaves behind.
