Roy E. Squires
June 12, 1930-September 2, 2021
Preceded in death by his parents Benjamin and Emily Nobles Squires, brothers Benjamin and Carl, sister Carol Taylor, son Thomas Squires and grandson Alexander Baker.
He is survived by sisters Shirley Squires and Benita Fry. Children Arlene, John, Diana Horton, Nancy Murray (Wade), Melinda Miller (Christopher), Robert, and Deborah. Grandchildren William Pemberton (Tonya), Alisha Squires-Samples (Zachary), Sara, Benjamin, Elizabeth, Michella Henry (Sam), Christopher Horton (Laura Jacobs), Theresa Baker (Brian), Julie Naylor (Gary), Dylan Ryan (Kaeleigh), Shannon Rapp (Craig), Emily Robino (Alexander), Robert (Ashley), Spencer (Brandi), Collin, Peyton and, David and Zachary Baldwin. Great-grandchildren Savannah Boydstun USN (Jonathan), Samantha, Alivia and Emilia Henry, Jerad Jacobs, Kate, Carly and Harrison Baker, Abigail Rapp, Declan Squires, and Colton Baldwin. Great-great-grandchildren Alexander and Dean Boydstun. Many nieces, nephews, and friends.
Roy was born in Florissant, Missouri. After serving in the US Army during the Korean War, he worked for and retired from General Motors. He was a wonderful woodworker and made beautiful furniture and toys. He enjoyed fishing and tinkering with electronics, showing off his magnificent train collection and he loved to tell silly jokes. His last years were spent living just outside of Hermann, Missouri.
He will be missed.
