Robert “Bob” Louis Grieve, Jr. passed away on February 21, 2022 at the age of 63, in Saint Louis, Missouri. His battles in recent months showed his courage in facing life’s challenges with a smile. Despite the hardships, Bob stayed strong until the end. He will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.
Bob was born on November 12th, 1958 in Highland, Illinois to Robert Grieve Sr. and Shirley Carriger. As a young adult, he joined the military. Bob was granted an honorable discharge from the Navy to care for his mother, in turn showcasing the kind and always-generous spirit Bob was.
Bob was a jack-of-all-trades. Throughout his life, he created many new businesses from the ground up, bringing to light his passion for entrepreneurship. In addition, he often worked in sales; whether it was selling cars or insurance policies, Bob was always the top salesman. Eventually, he was fortunate enough to retire from a position in private security.
Bob adored spending time with his family. His support for his children shone bright throughout his life. Whether it be at a band show or a dance competition, he was always there. In addition, Bob loved Cardinals baseball. Often he would take his family to Cardinals games where they would indulge in all the ballpark food they could carry. His favorite was the nachos.
Bob was gifted at all things computers and electronics. He always had the latest and greatest software and equipment – even if he had to build the computer himself. In addition, Bob loved movies. There wasn’t a Christmas that went by without playing his favorite movie, “The Family Man”. Bob also enjoyed fishing with his friends while playing classic country music. Music was one of his greatest loves. He had a knack for scouting out who the next big star would be. A big part of his life was attending concerts – a love that was passed down to his children.
Bob is survived by his children, Danielle Grieve, John Grieve, and Brandon (Cindy) Grieve; one sister, Cindy (Bill) Monroe; two brothers Jeff (Stephanie) Grieve and Bryan (Stacey) Grieve; multiple nieces and nephews; and three grandchildren, Hunter (Helen), Cierra, and Madison.
