Robert David Boeger, born August 26, 1934 in St. Louis, Missouri, passed away on May 16, 2021. He was 86 years old. Beloved son of the late Louis and Virginia (nee Ingamells) Boeger; loving father of Ed Harris, Jean Sokora (nee Harris), and Michael Boeger; cherished grandfather of Jacob, Rachel, and Miriam Sokora, and Kieran Boeger; dear brother of John L. Boeger.
Robert was a graduate of Culver Stockton College in Canton, Missouri, where he was a member of the Varsity Club, and the Debate and Football Team. In 2005 he was inducted into the Culver Stockton Hall of Fame along with the entire 1957 Football Team. He went on to attend the Annapolis Naval Academy and served as a Lieutenant JG in the United States Navy from 1958 until 1963, and served on the USS BonHomme Richard. He remained in the Navy Reserves until his Honorable Discharge in 1967.
He was a friend of “Bill” and “Dr. Bob” for over 50 years. Donations in his memory may be made to aastl.org.
Robert will be laid to rest in Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery on Friday, June 11, 2021, at 11:00 am.
