Michelle L. (née Roberts) Wilkins, age 67, of Olivette, MO, passed away on September 24 at home after a courageous battle with cancer. Michelle was born on October 12, 1958, to Theresa and Rufus Roberts in Boston, MA, and grew up surrounded by her large family of 7 siblings, grandparents, aunts, uncles, and cousins. She served in the US Air Force and later worked in IT. Michelle lived most of her life in the Boston area before moving to Missouri after retiring in 2018.
Michelle loved to watch Star Trek (especially with Captain James T. Kirk) and old Westerns. She enjoyed crocheting, puzzles, creative art projects, cruising, and occasional trips to the casino. Michelle had a passion and curiosity for family history and tracing our family connections, which she pursued over many years, exploring the genealogy of both the Roberts and Handy clans. Most especially, she enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren.
Michelle is survived by her loving and much-loved wife, Ronnie Simms; 2 daughters – Michelle Tutunjian (Gabriel) of Boston, MA, and Sylvia Roberts of St. Louis, MO and her son, Matthew Wilkins (Brittini) of Boston, MA. She is also survived by her 8 grandchildren: Khayden, Jillian, Sophia, Laneya, EJ, Dream, Devin, and Cassie. She is survived by her siblings: William Roberts (Bette), Rufus Roberts (Kathy), Hazel Donald (Arnold), Coley Roberts, and Jacqueline Brown (Willie), as well as a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, grandnieces, grandnephews, and many dear friends. Michelle was preceded in death by her parents, her sister, Theresa, and her brother, John.
Michelle had a great sense of humor and will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
Michelle’s ashes will be interred at Jefferson Memorial Cemetery in St. Louis, MO, on November 30, 2026. A Celebration of Life for Michelle will be communicated at a later date.
