Larry Wildman, 80, of Staunton, IL, passed away peacefully surrounded by his two daughters on January 29, 2022, at St. Elizabeth’s Hospital in O’Fallon, IL.
He was born to Verdette and Ruby “Fern” Wildman of Bement, IL.
Larry is survived by his daughters Tonia (Bob) Brown of Winfield, MO; and Tammy (Mark) French of Sullivan, IL; beloved brothers Steve Wildman of Sadorus, IL and Greg (Carol) Wildman of Portsmouth, VA; dear friend and companion Mary Lyons of Litchfield, IL; beloved grandchildren Amanda Scroggins, Heath Wildman, Trisha Wildman, Tara Mahon, Joc French; five step-children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, as well as his brother Harold Wildman of Florida, and his long-time best friend and dog Missy.
Larry retired from Wagner Castings of Decatur, IL after over 30 years of service. He loved muscle cars and enjoyed driving in the demolition derbies at Macon Speedway. Larry was an outdoorsman from fishing to hunting to going on long walks with Missy and visiting with neighbors. When he wasn’t outside, Larry was an avid rummy player and played cards regularly with Mary, Judy, and Jake. He cherished spending time with family and sharing stories, old and new.
He will be loved and missed by all who knew him. Rest in Peace.
Memorial contributions in Larry’s name may be may to the Cerebral Palsy Foundation.
The family is planning a private interment near Piatt County, IL in the spring.
