Kathleen Mary Menke Streiker

Kathleen Mary Menke Streiker, 78, of St. Peters, Missouri, passed away peacefully on June 21, 2026, surrounded by the love of her family.

Kathleen was born on July 2, 1947, in St. Louis, Missouri, to Robert and Marjorie Menke, who preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by her beloved husband, Martie Streiker; her cherished daughter, Amy Wacker; and her precious stillborn son, Christopher.

She is lovingly survived by her daughter, Melissa (Michael) Magrew; her son, Robert (Shannon) Streiker; eight grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; her brother, Steve (Nancy) Menke; her sister, Pat (Carl) Winship; and many beloved nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends.

Kathleen dedicated 46 years of her life to the nursing profession. After graduating from St. Luke’s Nursing School in 1967 as a Registered Nurse, she devoted most of her career to caring for residents in nursing homes. Nursing was far more than a career-it was her calling. She treated every patient with kindness, compassion, dignity, and respect. Her servant’s heart never wavered. Even while she was a patient in rehabilitation, Kathleen continued to comfort, encourage, and care for those around her.

She found joy in life’s simple pleasures. Kathleen loved sewing, cross-stitch, needlepoint, crocheting, scrapbooking, puzzles, and coloring. Through every stitch, scrapbook page, and handmade gift, she shared her creativity and love with those around her.

Above all else, Kathleen treasured her family. Her greatest joy was spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren and all of her extended family. Whether celebrating holidays, gathering around the table, or simply enjoying each other’s company, she created treasured memories that her family will hold close forever. Her unconditional love, gentle guidance, and generous spirit were the foundation of her family.

Kathleen’s life was firmly rooted in her faith in Jesus Christ. She found strength, comfort, and hope in the promises of her Savior throughout her life. As her earthly journey came to an end, she faced it with peace, knowing that heaven awaited her. Her family finds comfort in believing she has been joyfully reunited with those who went before her, including her parents, her beloved husband Martie, her daughter Amy, and her precious son Christopher, whom she longed to hold again.

Kathleen will be remembered for her compassionate heart, quiet strength, unwavering faith, and selfless devotion to others. She lived a life of service, touching countless lives through her nursing career and through the love she gave so freely to family, friends, and strangers alike.

Her life is beautifully reflected in the words of Proverbs 31:25-26:

“She is clothed with strength and dignity; she can laugh at the days to come. She speaks with wisdom, and faithful instruction is on her tongue.”

These words capture the woman Kathleen was-strong yet gentle, wise yet humble, and always caring for those around her.

A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, August 29, 2026, 12:00 PM to 4:00 PM at Ivy Chapel United Church of Christ 620 N Woods Mill Rd., Chesterfield, MO 63017.

Although our hearts are heavy with loss, we rejoice in the assurance that Kathleen is now in the presence of her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. We take comfort in knowing that she has been welcomed into heaven and reunited with those she loved who have gone before her. Her legacy of faith, compassion, kindness, and unconditional love will continue to live on in the hearts of all who were blessed to know her until that joyful day when we are together again.
