

John Glennon Adams, DVM went home to his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on
Monday morning, March 3, 2025, at age 85. Dr. Adams was a graduate of the
University of Missouri-Columbia School of Veterinary Medicine in 1970. He owned
both Jamestown Veterinary Clinic and Spanish Lake Animal Hospital from 1976
until he retired at the end of 2018. Prior to his DVM degree he graduated from
St. Mary’s High School in 1957 and attended Harris Teacher’s College for 2 years
before earning his BS degree in Wildlife Conservation and Zoology from the
University of Missouri-Columbia.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 59 years Patricia Adams (nee Scott),
children Cindy, Scott, Paul, Katie Adams, Jenny Fuqua, grandchildren Jade (Michael) Koehler and Jedidiah Fuqua and great-grandchildren Elliot and Alphonsus Koehler.
He was preceded in death by his mother Frances Friss and Uncle Ernie Rohay.
The family always had cats, dogs, guinea pigs, hamsters and gerbils as pets. Basset
Hound Missy was their first pet during Dr. Adams’ Freshman year and their
surviving 3 small dogs (Clyde, Olivia, Gabby) are rescued from puppy mills and
strays.
At his last request, Dr. Adams chose cremation with no services and donations to
an animal charity or to plant a tree.
