Jerry will be greatly missed. He’s been my faithful friend for many years. In life there are few as true. We’ve been given an invitation. Affirmative reply acknowledged. The fights been good Jer. Hoping to catch up again one day soon.

I will definitely miss being able to talk with and joke around with Jerry. I met Jerry 5 or 6 years ago at a Saturday morning Bible study. To say jerry was a presence would be putting it lightly. Things he spoke of were to me, different, but enlightening at the same time. Jerry’s story telling abilities are what legends are made of. From acting them out as well as the sound effects, they kept you on the edge of your seat. Jerry loved to laugh and he was not afraid to laugh at himself. Jerry loved his family, but he really loved his wife Diana. More than once he told the story of the first time he saw her while they both were attending SIUE. From early age Jerry worked hard and was always trying to better himself and the circumstances of his family. Jerry never shied away from talking about past and present shortcomings. He was one guy that was not afraid to look in the mirror. His love for the Lord and His word was unmistakable. As long as I live when I hear the words, “spiritual realm”’ I’ll immediately think of Jerry. I would have loved to have seen Jerry in his youth. I envision a young Irish mobster. Jerry was/is a good man. There are probably others like him, but there can’t be many! He was good friend who had to endure too much at the end of his life, but he did it with grace and without too much complaining. Diana willed him through for the last couple years or more. Her love for him can never be questioned. Jerry, I love ya and I miss ya. Save me a seat by the King.

In this photo from left to right are Dan Fitzsimmons, Roger Plapp, Jerry, and Bob Kopitke. Jerry and Bob were like brothers- they took care of each other. They shared an apartment when I met my husband, Bob. Soon after that, I met you, Diana. Those two boys are probably play a Heavenly round of golf right now!

Jerry took us all out for a night at the Fox in 1992. We went to Les Miserables. We all got dressed up and had a great time getting there. We took pictures and everything. Jerry quickly fell asleep and snored through it. Lol! Then his daughter Kate and I nodded off too. Not Diana though. She loved it! She was shining that night and that was good for Jerry!
