Frances “Fran” Joy Engelhart Kuntz, 69, was called home to be with her heavenly Savior on May 13, 2026. She was born on December 3, 1956, in Cape Girardeau, MO, to Joseph Charles Engelhart and Joy (Statler) Engelhart.
Fran was baptized and confirmed into the Lutheran faith at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Pocahontas and attended Lynwood Baptist Church in Cape Girardeau.
She was a 1975 graduate of Jackson High School and attended Southeast Missouri State University. Fran held numerous positions in retail throughout her career, including working at Walmart and JCPenney in the fine jewelry department. She later became a reflexologist.
Fran married Phillip Kuntz on October 29, 2005. Together, Fran and Phil raised and trained Beagles as show dogs.
Fran is survived by her brother, Paul (Carol) Engelhart; sister-in-law, Pat Engelhart; five nieces and nephews, Tyler Engelhart, Katelyn Engelhart, Rachel (Austin) Bram, Jeremy (Annie) Engelhart, and Alexis (Daniel) Rodgers, and her great-nephew and great-niece, Truman Engelhart and Charlotte Bram.
She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, brothers, Joseph Engelhart, and Dirk Engelhart and her sister-in-law, Jeanette Engelhart.
A visitation to celebrate Fran’s life will be held at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Pocahontas on Saturday, June 20, 2026, from 2:30 P.M. until the time of service at 3:30 P.M., Reverend Steven Theiss will officiate.
