Ervin Leroy Foulk
Ervin Leroy Foulk, aged 72, of Saint Charles, MO, passed away peacefully on January 24, 2024. Born on September 7, 1951, at Fort Campbell, Kentucky, to Leroy and Louise Foulk, Ervin’s early years were spent moving between military bases due to his father’s service in the US Army. This nomadic lifestyle instilled in him a deep respect for military service and a broad understanding of the diverse American landscape. The family eventually settled in Jackson, Missouri, after his father’s retirement, where Ervin’s strong sense of duty and integrity continued to flourish.
Ervin himself served four years in the US Air Force with distinction, receiving an Honorable discharge. His expertise in telephone communication systems was crucial in linking Intercontinental Ballistic Missiles, reflecting not only his technical skills but also his unwavering commitment to national security. After leaving the Air Force, he settled in Cape Girardeau, MO.
Following his service, Ervin’s passions led him on a lifelong journey of learning and discovery. He was a voracious reader, with a particular interest in history, notably the US Civil War. His curiosity was not confined to the past; Ervin also embraced the future, keeping abreast of technological advancements with keen interest.
Ervin was predeceased not only by his parents but also by his cherished granddaughter, Alexis Dawn Foulk, whose memory he held dear.
Ervin leaves behind his beloved wife, Docia Foulk, his children, James Foulk and Rebecca Byers, his sister, Neletta Godwin, and his grandson, Dylan Byers. His spirit, characterized by resilience, humor, and boundless love for his family, will profoundly be missed yet forever cherished by those who knew him.
Known for his ability to find humor in adversity, Ervin’s laughter and warmth created enduring memories for his loved ones, a testament to his remarkable character.
The Foulk family extends their heartfelt gratitude for the support shown during this time of loss. In lieu of flowers, donations to the American Cancer Society, the American Heart Association, the Multiple Sclerosis Society, or veterans groups would honor Ervin’s life and legacy.
