David Eugene Hill, born December 28, 1942, passed away on July 25, 2026, at the age of 83. He was born in St. Louis, and grew up in Florissant, and made a life rooted in hard work and family.
David dedicated 30 years of service as a police officer with the St. Louis Police Department. Known for his strong sense of responsibility, he approached every day with integrity. During his school years at Hazelwood Central, David played the trombone in the band. In addition David later developed a lifelong appreciation for classical music, which brought him peace and enjoyment.
David enjoyed working with his hands-especially woodworking-finding satisfaction in building, repairing, and creating with care. He also enjoyed the thrill of motorcycles and the freedom that came with riding, along with a genuine love for travel. Above all, David was devoted to his family.
David is survived by his wife, Marilyn. He is also survived by his children: Dawn Grotegeers (Mark), Christopher Hill, and Steve Hill (Judy).
A private gathering will be held for close family at a later date.
