It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our mother, friend and confidante. On Wednesday November 30th, 2022 Carol Dahl passed away peacefully surrounded by family after losing a second battle with cancer.
Carol was born on May 12,1947 in Houston, TX to Betty and Paul Willey. She had 2 sisters ( Betty Jean and Patty) and 3 brothers (David, Johnny, and Mike).
She attended Beauty School after graduating high school, where she met the love of her life, Tom Dahl, after a dare from his friends to ask her on a date while passing the school one day. They were married two months later on December 4th, 1965.
Carol had an amazing sense of humor and we all laughed with her often until tears of joy were streaming down our faces.
Carol enjoyed the gift of creativity and inspired others in her family. She often sketched horses when she was young. She was an excellent seamstress and crafter. Later, she picked up 3d visualization and enjoyed topics such as mermaids and motorcycles and later illustrated some children’s books. She created a darling line of characters known as The Smidges. They made their way into prints, greeting cards and digital animated greeting cards.
When Carol wasn’t creating, she enjoyed playing Animal Crossing, reading, following politics, and watching TikTok.
Carol was survived by her five daughters: Pam Maloney (David Maloney), Jessica Bramow (James Bramow), Cyndi Huskey (Brian Huskey), Leigh Murphy, Debbie Dahl-Hinrichs (Doug Hinrichs) as well as 10 grandchildren, Brittany Hitchcock, Danielle Maloney, Rachael Klave, Kyle Peterschmidt, Lilly Bryant, Keith Geller, Hailey Geller, Tyler Murphy, Brandon Murphy, and Dustin Murphy and 12 great grandchildren.
The family is planning to hold a Celebration of Life for Carol in the spring (2023) and will announce details via Facebook.
