It is amazing how different people cross your path and you become friends. Betty and Bob called me one afternoon and wanted to see a house in Illinois. I was the realtor on floor duty. We met and then I began showing them homes in the Illinois area. We met numerous times to look at homes and it was truly my pleasure. We had become more than just Realtor/Client, we became friends. Betty was so organized and precise in what she and Bob wanted. We finally found a house that checked off all of the "wants". The part of my job that I love is the people, but the sad part is you don't see one another much after you close on a home. However, we did! Bob and Betty invited me to their new home. We had lunch a couple of times and then we met a couple times a year to have lunch or dinner. We kept in touch through an occasional e-mail and we were hoping to get together soon for lunch with winter being over, but then the COVID-19 happened. Betty was a wonderful person. She was so sweet and had a heart of gold. She will be so dearly missed. My sympathy and prayers go out to Bob and the family.

Both my husband, Dan, and I worked with Betty during our Federal careers and as contractors. We appreciated her as our boss, always pleasant, kind, and encouraging. Since Dan and I are from the country, we enjoyed swapping stories of small town living with her. In the summer, she loved Dan’s home grown tomatoes. I can only remember her with a smile, and a tug at my heart now that she has crossed over. Our prayers and deepest sympathy. Fran & Dan Nicholson
