Amy Suzanne Soar (née Mueller), of St. Peters, Missouri, passed away peacefully on June 30th at 50 years of age in St. Louis, Missouri after a courageous battle with cancer. She was surrounded by family when the Lord took her home.
Amy was born on July 6th,1972 in Can Tho, Vietnam, and was joyfully adopted by her parents on February 5th, 1974. Her arrival marked the first adoption from Vietnam and the second international adoption in the history of St. Charles County.
She graduated from Fort Zumwalt North High School in 1991 and went on to study at St. Louis Community College where she graduated with a degree in Dental Hygiene. She was employed at Family Dental in St. Peters, Missouri where she practiced for 25 years. She dearly loved her co-workers and the caring and encouraging environment they provided.
In 2001, Amy married the love of her life, Eric Soar. They became the proud parents of two sons, Dylan (21) and Daniel (17). Their family was made complete with the arrival of their daughter Tia (13) from Xi’An, China on December 4th, 2011.
Amy had a talent and passion for cooking and entertaining and was known for hosting some of the most memorable gatherings for her beloved family and friends. Amy’s creativity and resourcefulness was exhibited through her thoughtful decorations, food, and gifts that she crafted for her loved ones. She had a contagious laugh, a passion for life, and a love of music and travel. Nothing was more important to Amy than her family, and she was a dedicated wife and mother. She will be missed dearly by all who had the honor of knowing her.
Amy has joined in heaven her cherished brother Jeffrey Mueller who preceded her in death in 2016.
She is survived by her devoted parents Thomas and Carolyn (Hunt) Mueller of St. Paul, Missouri, Dr. Allen and Cheryl (Page) Smith of Kansas City, Missouri, and her dear mother-in-law Ilse Soar of Sarasota, Florida, as well as her treasured siblings Cindy (Scott) Richey, Kristy (Andy) Albert, Richard (Karen) Smith, Sarah Harris, John Strange, Lieutenant Colonel Tyson (Wendy) Mueller, Sharis (John) Howell, Melinda (Michael) Forrester, Joshua Strange, Shana (Bradley) Maurer, Tommy (Nicole) Mueller, and brother-in-law Dr. Bart Soar, as well as many adored nieces and nephews.
Services will be held at Mathias’ Lot Church located at 2645 W Clay St, St Charles, Missouri, on Saturday, July 8th at 5pm. Doors will open at 4pm and A Celebration of Life with refreshments and food will immediately follow the service until 8pm.
