Alan Thomas Obrecht Sr.

June 5, 1967 – March 27, 2024

Alan Thomas Obrecht Sr., 56, passed away at Missouri Baptist Medical Center in St. Louis on March 27, 2024. Born on June 5, 1967, Alan was a lifelong resident of St. Charles County, MO where he attended Assumption Elementary and Fort Zumwalt High schools. Alan is survived by his daughter Amber Sinkler (Josh), son Alan “Buddy” Obrecht Jr. and his former wife Deana Brown Kennedy; grandchildren Gabriel Sinkler and Autumn Sinkler; siblings Robert Morris (Sherry), Wayne “Scooter” Obrecht (Karen), LaDonna “Dee Dee” Robertson (Darrell), Dan Obrecht (Ruth Ann), Mike Obrecht (Jennifer) and numerous nephews and nieces.  He was proceeded in death by his parents Valerie and Wayne Obrecht.

Alan was a sports fanatic who enjoyed keeping track of statistics. While he was a fan of all Missouri teams, the Kansas City Chiefs were his favorite. Anytime wrestling was on, you would find Alan watching, being the avid fan he was. Alan also enjoyed spending time listening to music, playing video games and watching movies. He and his children loved spending their vacations visiting amusement parks and riding roller coasters. All of Alan’s family were able to comfort him before his passing and will miss him dearly.

The family is requesting that in lieu of flowers, donations be made in Alan’s memory to the charity of your choice. A memorial service will be held at O’Fallon Church of Christ, 8576 Veterans Memorial Parkway, in O’Fallon on April 2, 2024 at 4:00 pm. A celebration of life will follow until 8:00 pm. Food and beverages will be provided, but additional side dishes and desserts would be appreciated. In honor of Alan, please feel free to wear a jersey/t-shirt/sweatshirt from your favorite sports team.
