Doug Prinzi left a message on July 20, 2025:
Uncle Steve was a unique character. Our family was always around him growing up but I really treasure the couple of years in college when I worked for him laying floors. It was more like carrying all the heavy stuff and doing the work nobody liked to do but, hey, I had no skills so that is all I could do at first. He was a really good boss. He answered every question I threw at him and he allowed me to play quality control as he was setting tile. I always respected his hard work at an age when most were at a desk somewhere. He took a lot of pride in what he did. I still use some of his sayings with my direct reports. He was adamant about letting him know if we made a mistake no matter how bad. He would always say that if he knew about it he could fix it 90% of the time just don't hide it. Take accountability. On the other side, we had a lot of laughs together. It was a lot of fun working with him and the family and his crew. Maybe we should have rethought getting paid at Hot Shots each Friday but it was a good time in life and I am glad I got to spend so much time together during those years. I still think of him and use his line "Even a blind squirrel finds a nut sometimes". I'll miss you, Steven. -Doug
