Nancy Ann Gambino, 75, of Lake St. Louis, passed away on January 28th, 2026 after a long battle with the no-good, horrible, scary, cancer monster.
She was born on July, 6th, 1950 in St. Louis, MO to Donald Durbin and Elizabeth Brewer.
Nancy attended St. Thomas Aquinas high school; she went on to an often attempted, rarely duplicated, award winning career as a stay at home Mom. She worked as the School Secretary at ICD, and retired to work as the office manager of the family pizza business.
Outside of work, Nancy was a voracious reader, music fanatic, and Diet Coke connoisseur. She enjoyed weekly card games and lunches with her flamingos, and summer weekends at the lake. Later in life she became an avid beach goer and snow bird; particularly fond of Florida, she would spend hours combing the beach for interesting seashells. She will be remembered for genuine kindness and the ardent need to take care of everyone around her. She welcomed everyone with open arms. She was loved by many and will be missed by all who knew her. Family was, and is, everything.
Nancy was preceded in death by her parents Don and Elizabeth Durbin, step-mother Shirley Durbin, parents In-Law Frank and Marie Gambino, sisters Kathy Durbin and Mary Ampleman, brothers Mike Durbin and Jimmy Durbin, Grandson Baby “H”, and nephew Matthew Durbin.
She is survived by Perry her husband of 53 years, children Brian and his spouse Janelle, Katie and her spouse Travis Villiger, grandson Frank, brother Steve Durbin, nephews Kyle Ampleman, and Brent Durbin, sisters in law Pat and spouse Richard Bothmann, Angela Gambino, and brother in-law John Ampleman.
A visitation and funeral mass will be held at 10:00am February 14th, 2026 at Immaculate Conception Dardenne Prairie at the Chapel.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The American Cancer Society, and Heartland Humane Society both causes that were important to Nancy.
