In Loving Memory of Curtis E. Maddox
With profound sadness and endless love, we announce the passing of Curtis E. Maddox. Born on July 16, 1976, he passed away peacefully on July 27, 2026 at the age of 50, following a courageous 7-month-and-3-week battle with cancer.
For Curt, his family was the center of his world and being a Dad was his greatest joy. He loved fiercely, provided faithfully, and found happiness in the simple moments spent with the people he loved most.
Curt had a passion for life. He was a lifelong St. Louis Blues fan and rarely missed an opportunity to cheer them on, usually with a large fountain Coca-Cola in hand. He took immense pride in his beloved 1933 Willy’s hot rod, spending countless hours working on it and involving his boys in proudly showing it at local car shows and the Wentzville Rod Runs. Curt was very particular about having a beautiful lawn; it was something he took pride in. He also loved The Beatles, whose music filled many of life’s happiest moments. Curt was the grillmaster of our family and we will always remember the delicious meals he prepared.
For 26 years, Curt dedicated himself to Investors Title Company, where he built lasting friendships and earned the respect of those around him through his integrity, loyalty, and unwavering work ethic. Over the years, the people he worked with became much more than coworkers—they became like family. Curt valued those relationships deeply and was grateful for the friendships, support, and connections he made throughout his career.
Curt will always be remembered for his quiet strength, kind heart, steadfast loyalty, and wonderful sense of humor. If he didn’t tease you or give you trouble, then he was probably having a bad day. Even as cancer challenged him, it never defined him. He faced each day with extraordinary courage, determination, and grace, leaving behind an example of resilience that will continue to inspire everyone who knew and loved him.
Although our hearts are broken, we are forever grateful for the years we shared, the memories we created, and the unconditional love he gave so freely. While we will miss him beyond words, we find comfort in knowing that his pain has ended and that his love and legacy will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
Curt is survived by his loving wife, Melissa “Lisa”; his cherished sons, Camden, Jayden, and Ashden; along with his Mother Peggy Maddox, brothers Timothy “Tim” Wolfenden, Michael “Mike” Fugatt, William “Bill” Maddox (Deirdre “Dee” Honaker) and Chris Maddox (Nichole Stout). He is also survived by his Aunts Christy “Chrissy” Callaway (Robert Callaway) and Cynthia “Cindy” Hicks and many beloved nieces and nephews, family members, dear friends, and coworkers whose lives were forever enriched by knowing him. He was preceded in death by his Father, Douglas “Doug” Maddox (Deborah “Debbie” Schroeder) and Sister-in-Law Lisa Palmisano Fugatt (Mike Fugatt).
A Celebration of Curt’s life will be held on Saturday, August 8th, at 4 PM at American Legion Post 312, 2500 Raymond Dr., St. Charles, MO 63301. This will be an open-house-style gathering. Family and friends are invited to stop by at any time to share memories, enjoy food/refreshments, and celebrate the remarkable life of a man who was deeply loved.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests memorial contributions to the educational futures of Curt and Lisa’s three sons. Donations will be distributed into 529 college and trade school savings accounts established for the boys.
