Robert “Bob” Eason was the third oldest child born to the union of Freddie James and Juanita Eason on May 1, 1948 in Hughes, Arkansas. His Father, three brothers, three sisters and a great granddaughter preceded him in death.
He graduated from the Mildred Jackson High School in Hughes Arkansas and attended The AM & N College in Pine Bluff, Arkansas.
Robert confessed a hope in Christ at an early age at New Mount Zion Missionary Baptist Church in Hughes, Arkansas under the leadership of Pastor Willie Harlston. After leaving Arkansas, he moved to Memphis Tennessee and joined Centenary United Methodist Church led by Pastor Dogan Williams. He was a very active member. He was involved in Church administration, other ministries within the church, including Boy Scout Master and Men’s Chorus.
Robert moved to St. Louis in 1993 and married Gay Tillman on May 14, 1994. He united with Christian Faith Center and remained a faithful member, serving on the CFC Board of Directors, Finance Committee and various ministries including Custodial Pastor’s Aide Committee, Benevolence, Food Pantry, Media and wherever he was needed. He was ordained as a Deacon by Apostle Dunn.
Robert was employed by Sears Roebuck and retired after more than twenty years of service. He also worked for the St. Louis Post-Dispatch Newspaper until he retired. He loved to play all kinds of games. His favorite was bowling. Robert loved his family dearly.
Robert transitioned on Friday, February 22, 2019 at 4:13 p.m at the Christian Hospital Northeast surrounded by his family. He leaves to cherish his memory, a loving and devoted wife, Gay Eason; Mother Juanita Eason; Mother in law, Nerlene Davis, four daughters; Pastor Autura (Darrell) Eason-Williams, Gwendolyn (Aaron) Graham, Latricia (Karmyko) Brock, and Chalita Coburn; two stepdaughters, Luciana (Andre) Murphy and Latonya Brown; seven grandsons and seven granddaughters, two great-grandsons and four great- granddaughters (one deceased); eight brothers Tommy Eason (Valerie), Charles Eason (Juanita), Roy Eason (Ella), Glenn Eason (Mildred), Gary Stallings (Zetty), Charles Stallings (Loretta), Freddie Lee and Ron Lee; six sisters Mary Hill (Randle), Carolyn Palmer (Hurley), Deborah Burton, Allie Taylor (Tommy), Melvia McCauley (Ricky), Sharon Stallings; three sister-in-laws, four brother-in-laws, and a host of nephews, nieces, cousins and friends.
