Thomas Sappington

January 17, 1950 - May 26, 2021

Thomas Joseph Sappington came into this world on January 17, 1950 and made an unexpected departure on May 26th, 2021. He was 71 years old.

He did not take with him his wife Maryann, to whom he was married for 52 years, or his children Philip, Mary, Carol and Keith (the eldest son, Edward, has long since been called home). His siblings Kenneth, Joan, Donald and Vickie are still around. Tom was also a grandfather and great-grandfather, but there are so many grandchildren and great-grandchildren that the family could not settle on an accurate count.

Tom’s long career as an aviation mechanic, which he referred to as his “gravy-sucking pig job on biscuit wheels”, brought home the bacon – much to the delight of his family come Christmastime. Most people will remember Tom as having a sense of humor and being a smart ass. This is also how his family remembers him. Correction: he was an “exceptionally loving and caring smart ass.”
