Robert J. Blackwell, of Weldon Spring, MO, passed away peacefully at his home on March 28th, with his wife and daughters by his side. He was 71 years of age. Beloved husband for 41 years to Pamela (Resinger) Blackwell; cherished son of the last Robert M. and Leatha J. (Haynes) Blackwell; devoted father of Christie (Basler) Thomas and Sarah (Hunt) Soutier; loving grandfather of Kody (Jackie) Thomas; Kayla (Don) Bush; Karley (Casey) Thomas; Shelby Soutier and Madison Soutier; loving great-grandfather of Nolan, Easton & Charlotte Thomas; Karsten & Kamri Bush; and Finley Jane Luetkenhaus; loving brother of Charles (Linda) Blackwell.
Born and raised in Bonne Terre, MO. He was Class President of the last class to graduate from Bonne Terre High School in 1967. He attended the University of Missouri and Missouri Law School, graduating in 1973, Order of the Coif. He went on to law clerk for Chief Judge James Meredith for a year and then went into private practice until his passing.
He was an avid baseball Cardinals fan and all sports Mizzou. He loved watching games and taking his family to as many games he could. He enjoyed playing golf, at Whitmoor Country Club where he was a member for over 28 years, and racquetball. He loved fireworks and over the years thrilled his family, friends and neighbors with one of the best fireworks displays around.
He loved the practice of law but his biggest love was his family who loved him dearly and will be greatly missed and forever in their hearts.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, May 22, at Whitmoor Country Club, Weldon Spring, MO, 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm.
