Mark Stephen Welch, was wrapped in the arms of the Lord on October 27, 2019. Mark was born December 6th, 1956 in Fulton, KY to Donald (Joe) and Donna Ashby-Welch. In 1959 they moved to O’Fallon, MO where Mark attended Fort Zumwalt High School and graduated “Most Handsome” in 1975. He was united in marriage to Tamela (Tammie) Campbell-Welch on December 17, 1977. That union blessed them with their only child, Carly Welch in 1982.
Mark was a Union plumber and member of the Plumbers and Pipefitters Local 562 for over 20 years. After retiring from the Union, Mark still did many plumbing jobs for friends, family and anyone who needed a great plumber. Mark had many friends, a huge heart and never met a stranger. He was also a loving son, brother, a wonderful father, Paw-Paw and a man with a kind soul.
He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Wallace and Mary Ellen Ashby of South Fulton, TN and his paternal grandparents Sam and Bertie Welch of McConnel, TN. Mark leaves behind his parents, Donald (Joe) and Donna Ashby-Welch of O’Fallon, MO; two sisters, Teresa Welch and Debra Peters, both of St. Peters, MO; one nephew, Chris Hull of O’Fallon, MO; one daughter, Carly Welch and his beloved granddaughters, Shelby Welch and Mylie Lamb all of O’Fallon, MO. Mark also leaves many friends, other family members and the many others who loved him dearly.
The family would like to thank everyone who called and came by to see Mark during the last month of his life. Especially Tom and Linda Russell, Bob Collins and Eric Fravell for their endless prays, visits and love. We are Forever Grateful, God Bless.
