It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Maggie Marino, fortified with the Sacraments of the Holy Mother Church. Maggie was beloved wife of the late Karl Rau and the late James Randal Sowers II; devoted mother of Jacob Gannon Marino. Maggie was preceded in death by her mother, Patricia Frances Marino (nee Shay), father, Giovanni Pasquale Marino, stepmother, Constance Louise Marino (nee Schoo), nephew and godchild, Michael Cohn Utterback. Maggie was a loving sister to John J. (Clare, nee Cribbin) Marino, Marykay M. (Byron) Utterback (nee Marino), Dana (the late Tery Houlihan) Marino Markland, James M. (Dee, nee Pointer) Marino and Jennifer A. (Brian) Williams (nee Marino); dear aunt of Andrea (Coalter) Powers (nee Marino), Kathryn (William) Childress (nee Marino) John J. (Kelly, nee O’Neill) Marino Jr., Christine (David) Mulford (nee Marino), Byron Utterback Jr., Gregory Utterback, Meghan Jones (nee Utterback), Joshua Utterback, Kristin (Tom) Klier, Sydney Marino, Dominic Marino, Alexander (Cassie, nee Owens) Williams, Olivia Williams and Emily Williams; dear great-aunt of Addyson Powers, William Powers; Avery Childress, John William Childress, Giovanni Marino, Apollonia Marino, Frances Jones, Genevieve Williams, Sol and Juniper Kochtitzky Klier. Maggie was a loving cousin and friend to many. Maggie was a long-time resident of the Hill and parishioner of St. Ambrose Catholic Church. She was a passionate sports fan; loved music, movies, her years living in Los Angeles, and her cat Stanley, (as well as Cat, Daniel and Midnight). She was a person of many talents showcased in several career fields, some of which include residential and commercial real estate; serving as secretary of St. Roch’s Parish; as well as her many years in the food service industry. Maggie will be greatly missed by many.
Services: St. Ambrose Catholic Church, 5130 Wilson Ave, St. Louis, Missouri, Saturday, August 17th for visitation at 8:30 AM until funeral Mass at 9:30 AM. Interment Holy Cross Catholic Cemetery, 16200 Manchester Road, Ellisville, Missouri following the funeral Mass.
In lieu of flowers, donations to the Humane Society and the ASPCA are appreciated.
