Marci Ann Smith, age 33, passed away peacefully in her home on April 20, 2021. Marci was born on April 27, 1987, in Belleville, Illinois to Beth Smith. She attended private schools and graduated from Althoff High School in 2005.
Marci was an active member of The ARCHway Institute and the NA community. She dedicated her time to service positions and sponsorship and inspired many others to do the same. Marci has a “Hope Fund” in her name with The ARCHway Institute, that will provide grants and scholarships to men and women overcoming barriers of substance abuse. This was something Marci took great pride in. Marci was a light to all around her and supported many in the community on their road to recovery. She was a peer support specialist for The ARCHway Institute and worked in the service industry for years. It was the perfect avenue for her passion, sass, and laughter to shine to everyone she served. Marci had the uncanny ability to connect deeply with nearly everyone she met. She was so profoundly loved, and her memory will be cherished by many.
Marci is survived by her mother, Beth Smith, her uncles Bob (Karen) MacBush and Steve MacBush, many cousins, and a large network of family, friends, and sponsees, and her baby, her dog Blu. Family, friends, and others whose lives Marci touched are invited to attend a visitation on Tuesday, April 27 from 2-3 p.m., followed by a ceremony celebrating Marci’s life from 3-4 p.m. at Hutchens Mortuary and Cremation Center at 675 Graham Road, Florissant, MO 63031. We will reminisce, grieve, and celebrate the life of our beloved Marci. In lieu of flowers, it was Marci’s wish that any memorial tributes be made in the form of charitable donations to the Marci Smith Hope Fund at https://thearchwayinstitute.org/marci-smith-recovery-and-beyond/.
