Faith McMillan, 77
May 19, 1947 – April 30, 2025
Faith McMillan, age 77, died peacefully in her sleep on April 30, 2025, after a courageous battle with dementia.
Born on May 19, 1947, in her beloved Boston, Massachusetts, Faith carried with her a deep sense of adventure and curiosity about the world. The summers of her early years were spent at Camp Wohelo in Maine learning to craft, swim, and sail boats. Faith moved to Colorado to attend Colorado Women’s College and fell in love with the state, choosing to make it her home for the majority of her life. During college she studied in Geneva, Switzerland which allowed her to explore Europe alongside her parents, Robert and Natalie McMillan. Faith later continued her explorations with her children. Faith worked at the phone company for the entirety of her career allowing her to retire early after 37 years of service.
Whether crossing continents or camping in the mountains of Colorado, Faith approached life with a playful spirit, wonder, and a readiness for new experiences. Faith was a woman of deep faith and love for community, she was an active member of First Plymouth Congregational Church, where she sang in the choir, played bells, and raised her children in a nurturing and spiritual environment. Faith and her family enjoyed attending camps with the First Plymouth community at Camp LaForet in Colorado Springs.
In her final years, she was lovingly cared for by her daughter in St. Louis, even during her decline, faith enjoyed being playful and laughing with all who met her. She will be remembered for her warmth, resilience, sense of humor, collection of penguins, and the joy she brought to others.
Faith is survived by her son Erik Evans, daughter Dana McNamara, and cherished grandson Slayde Evans.
A celebration of her life will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, May 20th at First Plymouth Congregational Church, 3501 S. Colorado Blvd. Cherry Hills Village, CO 80113, followed by an interment ceremony and reception.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in Faith’s name to the music ministry at First Plymouth or the Alzheimer’s Association.
