D. Mark Kohler
Bel-Nor – Born March 28th 1962, died at the age of 57 on Monday, November 25th 2019 at Evelyn’s House Hospice Facility in Creve Coeur after being diagnosed with pancreatic cancer in February.
Mark grew up in Olmsted Falls, Ohio with his parents Richard and Wendy (Price) Kohler and younger sister Jennifer Kohler. Mark met his wife Laurie (Gelinas) at Edgewater Park in Cleveland. Mark and Laurie were blessed with one daughter, Sarah M. Kohler. They would have celebrated their 35th wedding Anniversary this June.
Mark worked as a real estate appraiser, and both owner and manager of several rental properties in North County, St. Louis. He was an avid golfer and held a longtime membership at The Normandie Golf Club. One of Mark’s penultimate accomplishments was the completion of building his lake house in Northwest Missouri where he planned to retire with his wife. In his earlier years he coached Boys CYC basketball at St. Ann Catholic School. He loved all sports but especially basketball, football and golf, mostly favoring his hometown of Cleveland.
Mark lived his life with one reassuring motto – “Everyone was exactly where they were supposed to be.”
Mark will be sadly missed by family members here and in England, and by countless friends.
A funeral Mass will be held in his honor at:
St. Ann Catholic Church in Normandy
7530 Natural Bridge Rd, St. Louis, MO 63121
Saturday, December 7th at 7:00 p.m.
